<p>Please note that the date has changed for our March Dinner Meeting (Tuesday, March 13th).</p>
<p>Information on Implementing ISO 26000: Guidance on Social Responsibility/Recertification is on the website (http://asqbaltimore.org/go/kf) and in notices that are scheduled. Join us.</p>
<p>Our current scheduled dates for our upcoming Dinner meetings are: Mar 13, Apr 3 and May 10.</p>
<p><strong>Science Fair</strong></p>
<p>ASQ Baltimore has once again been invited to participate in the 57th Annual Baltimore Science Fair to be held at Towson University. As in past years, the Baltimore Section will provide volunteer judges and awards to students participating in the Baltimore Science Fair. (http://asqbaltimore.org/go/kc)</p>
<p>The ASQ Baltimore Section has been continuously supporting the Science Fair for about 20 years.</p>

<p><strong>21st Annual Service Quality and Government Conference</strong></p>
<p>October 15 – 16, 2012 (Baltimore, Maryland) Location: Hyatt Regency Hotel.</p>

<p>Training Courses offered by ASQ Baltimore (PMP and Green Belt)</p>
<p><strong>Project Management and Green Belt Courses:</strong></p>
<p>PMP Course is scheduled for Apr 20 – 22, 2012 (Friday – Sunday).</p>
<p>Green Belt Course is scheduled for May 14 &#8211; 17 (Monday – Thursday).</p>

<p><strong>Section Mailing List</strong></p>
<p>ASQ National is in the process of redesigning their membership database and the changes may impact you. One item is the email &#8220;preference&#8221; option which is being updated to allow you to customize the method with which you would like to be contacted. Until this feature is finalized, some of you that have requested NOT to get these section messages may see them in your inbox.</p>
<p>Additionally, new members that sign up to ASQ may not have their emails added to the local Section mailing list until after the beginning of the following month.</p>
<p>We believe this is a temporary situation and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.</p>
<p><strong>Board Meetings</strong></p>
<p>Come join us and see how your Section is managed. Volunteer opportunities are available (please contact a Board Member or info@asqbaltimore.org). Our next Board meeting will be February 21 and future ones are scheduled for Mar 20, Apr 17 and May 15.</p>
<p>Note: Our Board meetings are currently being held at Snyder’s. Enter the back, but proceed to the restaurant (not the Dinner meeting rooms) and ask for the room reserved for “ASQ”.</p>
<p><strong>Programs &#8211; Bring-A-Book/Take-A-Book</strong></p>
<p>“Bring a Book”/”Take a Book” is now offered at our upcoming Dinner meetings. If you have a quality- or business-related book that you no longer need (but might benefit a colleague) please bring it to the next Dinner meeting. Feel free to look over the books there and take one.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Judges needed to volunteer for the 57th Annual Baltimore Science Fair</strong></p>
<p>The ASQ Baltimore Section has once again been invited to participate in the <a href="http://www.baltimoresciencefair.org">57th Annual Baltimore Science Fair</a> (<a href="http://www.baltimoresciencefair.org/">http://www.baltimoresciencefair.org</a>) to be held at Towson University. As in past years, the Baltimore Section will provide volunteer judges and awards to students participating in the Baltimore Science Fair. The Section has been continuously supporting the Science Fair for about 20 years.</p>
<ol>
<li>Section members volunteer as independent judges for ASQ and earn Recertification Points.</li>
<li>Judging takes place on Saturday, March 24th, at the Towson University Student Union. On Saturday, the commitment is from 8:30 AM until about 2 PM.</li>
<li>The Awards Ceremony takes place on Sunday, March 25th. If you can assist in presenting the awards, the commitment is from 3:30 PM until about 5 PM at the Towson University Student Union.</li>
<li>Judges from ASQ Baltimore will adjudicate the student exhibits for their use and understanding of statistical principles and statistical thinking and provide recognition awards.</li>
<li>The Section will also recognizes teams of students for effectively working together to solve their chosen problem.</li>
<li>Members interested in volunteering to be a Judge may contact the Science Fair Committee Chair, David Moore, at 240-422-3577 or <img style="vertical-align: bottom" src="http://173.248.187.3/~asqbalti/abip/wp-content/plugins/mm-email2image/e2i.php?string=6c_O2tPJmJnS4eisxujWyJSf5eHj29fak9Wlmg,,&text=leuef33qxv&color=000000&background=FFFFFF&trans=YES&size=3" />.</li>
<li>Note, that this year, the Science Fair organization is also in need of sponsor judges in the Biology sciences, and if you are able to help, please contact Bob Bufano, Director of the BSF directly at <img style="vertical-align: bottom" src="http://173.248.187.3/~asqbalti/abip/wp-content/plugins/mm-email2image/e2i.php?string=yZLb3MbR39fYmM2S2Nujz-fK3p-VlN7W&text=1oichziu3g&color=000000&background=FFFFFF&trans=YES&size=3" />.  Sponsor judges judge on behalf of a sponsor that is short of or does not provide judges, and is separate from the ASQ Baltimore judging.”</li>

<p>The Fair attracts winners of school and county-based science fairs from Maryland&#8217;s Baltimore Region. Students represent public and private schools and home schools. Students come from middle (Division 1) and high (Division 2) schools within Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard Counties and Baltimore City. The Fair is now operated by the non-profit Baltimore Science Fair Foundation and has been additionally sponsored by the following organizations: Towson University, Lockheed Martin Corp., Baltimore County Public Schools, Constellation Energy Group, and Howard Co Public Schools. The Baltimore Section of ASQ is a contributing supporter.</p>

<p>Winners from the Baltimore Science Fair will compete in the International Science &amp; Engineering Fair to be held in May 13 &#8211; 18, 2012 in Pittsburgh PA.</p>
