Tips for ASQ Jobseekers:
- If you are actively looking for jobs, rather than just casually looking, then look through the list of Internet Job Listing sites, Recruiter’s websites and the Company websites listed elsewhere on JOBSEEKERS, as they may have numerous other jobs that are not listed on the JOBSEEKERS site.
Note that if you find a company that is a good candidate for you, but doesn’t have a Quality job on its website, check out the company on the main Internet Job search sites, as many companies don’t have the latest jobs on their own websites.
- Education / certification will be useful, as numerous companies explicitly request specific certifications or education. Review the links specified on JOBSEEKERS, in order to see if there is relevant training available to you.
- Eighty percent of available jobs are never advertised, and over half of all employees get their jobs through networking, according to BH Careers International.
- ASQ Meetings are a great place to network with others in the Quality Industry.
- Career fairs also offer great practice in perfecting networking and interviewing skills. Talk to as many people as you can; never underestimate the value of face time with recruiters from leading companies. And, just as importantly, listen to them, too. Pay attention to the questions you’re being asked and to the kind of information they’re offering. It’s impossible to leave without something of value.
