Job Description
Responsible for leading continuous improvement teams to support the relentless and persistent elimination of waste. Uses tools such as Kaizen events, value-stream maps, DMAIC processes, and other tools to facilitate problem and waste recognition and solution development and implementation. Supports the BOPT team in and leading issues. Leads, coaches, and develops the organization (Operations) to think Lean! Specific duties include:
* Coaches others in support of organizational goals and objectives.
* Supports resources within organizations to become self sufficient in continuous improvement skills and processes.
* Leads teams implementing various improvement efforts including, but not limited to:
o 6S program
o Six Sigma
o Lean
o Set-up Reduction
o Lead time reduction
o Procedure improvement
o Process and procedure architecture improvements
* Provides Operations performance metrics that summarize improvement opportunities within Operations
* Institutes proactive measures to reduce the number of BOPT issues
* Provides analysis on specific projects
* Supports the strategies that will align Operations to meet future needs of our internal customers
* Institutes techniques that will aid the culture to accept and embrace change
Required Skills
Understanding of ISO 9001 and 14001 standards. Understanding of Lean techniques and Six Sigma methodology. Understanding of all internal operating processes, procedures and criteria. Personal computer skills. (e.g., word processing, spread sheet, presentation graphics) Effective written and oral communication skills. Leadership and team building skills. Ability to direct goal oriented activities of a diverse work force. Ability to plan, organize and schedule. Ability to motivate employeesUnderstanding of Sarbanes/Oxley and other legal compliance requirements
Required Experience
Typically requires a minimum of two years directly related experience in Manufacturing with a Bachelors Degree in a Technical field, or Business. Or equivalent education and experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the job duties. Prior experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system preferred. Lean training required. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred. APICS CPIM preferred.
