Job Description:

* Provide process and work product quality assurance (PPQA) evaluations to Engineering projects.
* Provide project staff and management with the appropriate visibility into the processes and associated work products through the implementation of PPQA audit processes and to evaluate and maintain projects’ and organization’s readiness for compliance to existing and future process standard certifications.
* Perform as a process and productivity improvement staff member, peer review project documents, mentor project teams in the selection and implementation of engineering standard processes, develop and administer training courses for quality engineering initiatives, track project and organizational non-compliances, provide monthly reports, assist in the collection, development and maintenance of productivity and efficiency metrics, evaluation records, resource and CM databases.
* Lead Quality Engineering practices at Columbia, MD location.
* Effectively liaise with Quality Engineering functions in Rochester, NY, Melbourne, FL, and other RFCD Quality Engineering supported locations.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree
* Active Secret level security clearance
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering, manufacturing, or service/engineering-related field.
* Minimum of two years’ experience with Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, the internet, other office automation software, and database applications required
* Experience with Lean Six Sigma or CMMI

Preferred Additional Skills:

* General knowledge of ISO 9000:2000 Quality Management System.
* Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt) a plus.
* Capacity to network and build trust quickly.
* Ability to energize a team toward the accomplishment of specific goals.
* Ability to lead and facilitate internal and external meetings to drive required results.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Proven group or project leadership or management ability.
* Demonstrated ability to identify root cause of problems and design corrective action or make requests for help, where necessary.
* Customer-service oriented.
