Description

Position location can be in Maryland (Columbia or Curtis Bay) or Lake Charles location.

Six Sigma team member of the Operational Excellence Team

Reporting to Director of Operational Excellence

Opportunity to join instrumental Six Sigma team of Grace Davison to identify and lead a multi year portfolio of improvement projects to achieve our 10 year Energy Intensity Sustainability objective.  Individual will set up and automate a measurement system for recording Energy Intensity.  Responsibilities will include identifying and leading improvement projects to drive energy efficiencies throughout operations and determining the entitlement energy performance of major unit operations.  Individual will work with outside agencies (US Dept of Energy, etc.) to assess our energy efficiency processes and programs.  Position will engage with the R&D and Marketing teams and PRISM process to develop new products and processes that have a smaller energy footprint.  Individual will seek out the best energy improvement practices in the chemical industry to bring best in world class methods to Davison.  Goals will include identifying and leading a multi year portfolio of projects for infrastructure systems (compressors, lighting, HVAC, office equipment, etc.)  Responsible for mentor and training of Black Belts and Green Belts in the planning, designing and implementation of key energy efficiency projects.
Requirements

Successful candidate will have a strong engineering background and problem solving skills with proven cross-functional project leadership experience. Individual must be a dynamic, creative and smart leader with the ability to develop and drive his/her vision across the organization.   Must be able to create a multi year technology plan and lead its implementation.  Individual must be able to influence business leaders and their decision making process.

Requirements:

BS Engineering (Chemical Engineering Preferred).

Six Sigma Black Belt , 8-10 years of industrial experience

Ability to travel approximately 10-20%
