W.R. Grace & Co. a leading Specialty Chemical Manufacturer has an exciting position as a Quality Assurance Team Leader at its Curtis Bay facility.
This position is responsible for quality assurance, ISO 9001 and cGMP programs for all 4 Businesses within the Curtis Bay Plant. Maintains Site Quality Management Systems and serves as the Quality System ISO 9001 Management Representative. Ensures that the Site quality system activities link to customer and business area goals/objectives. Ensures laboratories remain current with technological advances. Ensures quality management system adhere to applicable government regulations, customer requirements, and certification requirements. Drives continuous improvement utilizing Six Sigma and Lean techniques. Ensures analytical data meets internal and external customer needs and expectations, which would include data review and product release. Monitors internal and external customer satisfaction and resolve customer issues and complaints.
The successful candidate will ensure product and customer specifications are maintained. Works with Site and Business Area to evaluate supplier quality systems and performance. Ensures internal quality audit program is coordinated to ensure compliance with quality system objectives. Ensures Corrective and Preventive Action System is effectively implemented. Manages Management of Change (MOC) system and approves changes for Site. Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as required.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, the qualified candidate is preferred to have the following:
A 4-year College degree or relevant experience. Master’s degree is a plus. A minimum of 7 years of quality management systems experience – preferably in a chemical plant environment. Results oriented, excellent organizational, communication, and people management skills. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and can affect change. Able to act decisively using fact-based approaches in problem solving, able to bring concepts to implementation, and excellent production mentality. Working knowledge of ISO 9001, SPC/SQC, cGMP and Six Sigma is preferred. Proficient in using Microsoft Office software packages including Word, Excel and Access.
