Description:
This individual directs the quality assurance function at Message Systems. This individual develops quality assurance processes and standards for Message Systems’ products. They will oversee the development and execution of software test plans and the analysis of test results. This individual is a hands-on manager, both directing and participating in testing activities.
This individual will also provide leadership for the quality assurance team in the areas of software development process and methodology, quality assurance methodology, change management, and lifecycle quality management. This individual will work throughout the Message Systems organization and with Message Systems’ customers evangelizing quality processes and standards.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, document, deploy, and maintain life cycle quality processes for the organization
* Partner with the Product Management, Technical Support, Customer Service, and Project Management teams to develop high quality products and services and improve the overall product development process
* Develop Message Systems’ Quality Assurance tool set, defining and developing the tools necessary to operate the Quality Assurance function at Message Systems
* Present Message Systems’ quality assurance processes and procedures to others within the Message Systems organization and to Message Systems’ customers
* Develop and maintain high standards for product and process quality throughout the organization
* Develop quality processes, policies, and practices that enhance Message Systems’ ability to deliver robust, highly reliable, and maintainable products and services
* Manage the gathering and reporting of quality metrics, and measurements
* Manage individuals on the quality assurance team. Hire, develop, and maintain teams of quality assurance engineers to support Message Systems’ product development roadmap
* Contract for and manage teams of quality assurance engineers to help augment Message Systems’ QA team during peak resource periods
* Work with vendor product development and quality assurance teams to ensure that Message Systems’ vendors and partners deliver quality products
* Participate in all aspects of the product development life cycle to ensure quality standards are met or exceeded
* Perform requirements analysis, test case development, test case execution, automated testing, performance testing, metrics gathering and analysis
Skills Required:
* Extensive experience testing large-scale, high-performance infrastructure systems
* Knowledge of software industry standard quality assurance practices
* Deep knowledge of quality assurance tools and techniques
* Knowledge of configuration management practices and tools including Subversion, etc.
* Demonstrated experience with and completion of full lifecycle quality assurance, configuration management, deployment, and operational support of large scale, highly available messaging systems
* Familiarity with total quality management processes and systems such as CMMI
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Strong written and verbal communications skills
Required Credentials:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
* Minimum 6 years work experience with 2 years experience as a quality assurance manager or director
* Legal right to work in the United States of America
