Job Summary:

This position is located in the Office of the Deputy Public Printer, Washington, DC.

Selectee will work shift 1 and have a tour of duty of 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

The incumbent of this position reports directly to the Deputy Public Printer/Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the management and direction of process and product assurance activities for GPO’s information products and services.

Major Duties:

The selectee directs a staff responsible for the evaluation of process and product assurance activities for GPO’s information products and services.  Develop, staff, and implement the capability to independently analyze and assess the reliability, reproducibility, maintainability, and quality aspects of the design, development, test, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, delivery, and life cycle support for assigned product lines. Direct staff that plans, coordinates, evaluates, and leads quality improvement initiatives which integrate the principles of total quality management and technical quality methodologies and conduct internal quality system reviews and audits, supplier quality audits and pre-award surveys. Determine new developments and practices in the field of quality assurance through research, innovation, collaboration and participation in/with quality networks both inside and outside of government. Establish policy, requirements, and criteria pertaining to these functions, and for ensuring organizational and contractor compliance with all agency, oversight committee, federal, state, and local codes, mandates, directives, and best business practices. Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience supervising a staff responsible for reviewing and evaluating operations and procedures through periodic audits and developing and implementing plans for process improvements and internal controls.  Applicant must also have knowledge of and understand the relationship of quality assurance to other activities such as manufacturing, operations, supply chain, life cycle, etc.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS:  Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.  To minimally qualify, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level.
