POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of a QA Director, Customer Quality and the general direction of Business Development Vice Presidents, the Customer Quality Assurance Manager provides leadership for the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of key Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs, supporting the Americas Industrial business initiatives with customers at all McCormick facilities, Co-packers, and Joint Ventures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Developing customer intimacy to establish and maintain effective trusting business relationships with customers at all levels
•    Leading the development and execution of customer quality/food safety programs, systems and audit requirements to proactively meet customer quality expectations
•    Managing and assuring compliance to customer Quality Systems and Food Safety program requirements
•    Ensuring that products and procedures conform to McCormick and customer requirements
•    Facilitating the resolution of complex quality issues including customer complaints and issues at vendors
•    Proving plant support to include, but not be limited to, facilitation of root cause and corrective actions, problem resolutions, certification activities, auditing, and material dispositioning
•    Participating in and/or leading commercialization, continuous improvement and risk management activities
•    Acting as Quality liaison between McCormick’s multi-functional departments and the customer
•    Coordinating and engaging with McCormick global customer QA support groups to meet customer quality requirements globally
•    Participating in business unit management activities
•    Serving as Quality/Technical support between McCormick and customers
•    Identifying best practices to support industry quality initiatives and customer requirements
•    Negotiating solutions for customer needs that minimize impact to McCormick

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or relevant technical field
•    Minimum 5 years QA/QC experience in the food, ingredient, flavor and/or beverage manufacturing industry
•    Total Quality Management (TQM) experience
•    Experience influencing others with and/or without direct authority
•    Strong communication, relationship and team-building skills
•    Experience effectively collaborating across levels and functions within own organization and with outside customers and vendors
•    Data analysis and problem solving experience
•    Ability to negotiate
•    Experience successfully managing multiple priorities simultaneously
•    Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% per month

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Experience interfacing directly with large national and/or international account customers on a regular basis toward the resolution of complex quality issues
•    Experience developing and/or executing customer quality / food safety programs
•    Familiarity with computer systems such as SAP and WinCHEM
•    Ability and willingness to relocate to the Baltimore, MD area for future career opportunities
