Job Description:
Washington Consulting, an Alion company, seeks ASQ- or Navy-certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belts for our Management Solutions Team.

Primary Duties:
•    Be a part of a team supporting a defense client’s Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS) activities, such as: process mapping, data collection and analysis, facilitating application of CPI/LSS techniques and tools, development of metrics, supporting project coordination (e.g., scheduling) and control, or creating project documentation
•    Support standardization of the client’s CPI/LSS efforts (e.g., draft and maintain the client’s CPI/LSS implementation strategy, develop templates, provide recommendations for project replication and knowledge sharing procedures)
•    Assist in coordination with external partners (e.g. Department of the Navy, DoD) and contribute to meeting CPI/LSS internal and external reporting requirements
•    Advise on CPI/LSS related software tools. Support implementation of CPI/LSS systems.
•    Provide training, coaching and mentoring for client CPI/LSS personnel, including development and delivery of LSS Champion/Project Sponsor Training, Kaizen Leadership, Yellow Belt, and Green Belt training.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
•    ASQ or Navy-trained Green or Black belt certification
•    Bachelor’s degree
•    5 or more years’ relevant professional experience, preferably in management or IT consulting
•    At least 1 year’s experience with direct application of CPI/LSS principles
•    Prior experience with government, in particular DoD, clients
•    Demonstrated proficiency with CPI/LSS tools, software, and techniques
•    Fundamental skills in statistics
•    Ability to facilitate CPI/LSS projects
•    Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
•    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to build relationships with colleagues, client staff, and third party consultants
•    Ability to effectively interface with all levels of client personnel, including senior management
•    Excellent communication skills
•    High level of initiative with the ability to work independently with little or no direction
•    Demonstrated dependability and ability to multi-task and meet competing deadlines
•    Commitment to quality and exceeding expectations
•    Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if necessary
