Job Description

* Works with Quality Engineers to ensure project specific quality requirements are maintained.
* Assist in establishing and implementing quality acceptance plans, methods and procedures.
* Reviews requirements of SPECs and SOWs in preparation for RFP & RFQ activities.
* Provides guidance for supplier activities.
* Collaborates with Engineering and Operations to ensure contract specific requirements are maintained.
* Participates with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing and Engineering personnel in performing verification tests on complex test tools, procedures, and first piece production items.
* Monitors and reports on quality data relevant to assigned programs and the AAI quality system.
* Participates in design reviews, program reviews, material reviews and other reviews as directed.
* Identifies and recommends or implements the appropriate corrective action to quality problems in the assigned area.
* Prepares inspection and/or test procedures as required by assigned program(s).
* Selects equipment and conducts tests and experiments to establish quality standards for production processes and materials.
* Writes quality plans, procedures, forecasts and manpower plans.
* Assists customer representatives in their evaluation of AAI facilities and quality programs.
* Practices Lean Six Sigma principles and concepts.

Required Skills

* Broad knowledge of quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
* Technical knowledge of electrical inspection and test techniques.
* Knowledge of computers and computer applications.
* Knowledge of military and commercial quality specifications.
* Knowledge of statistical techniques and applications.
* Effective written and oral communication skills.
* Technical writing ability.
* Ability to analyze complex specifications, drawings, procedures and schematics.
* Ability to apply analytical skills to solve problems.
* Ability to plan and organize.
* Ability to effectively resolve material review actions.
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.

Required Experience

Typically requires three years experience in Quality Assurance with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or Industrial Management, or equivalent education or experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the job duties. Quality Engineering experience in an electrical and electronics manufacturing environment including IPC Standards.
