Job Description

* Works with Quality Engineers to ensure project specific quality requirements are maintained.
* Assist in establishing and implementing quality acceptance plans, methods and procedures.
* Reviews requirements of SPECs and SOWs in preparation for RFP & RFQ activities.
* Provides guidance for supplier activities.
* Collaborates with Engineering and Operations to ensure contract specific requirements are maintained.
* Participates with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing and Engineering personnel in performing verification tests on complex test tools, procedures, and first piece production items.
* Monitors and reports on quality data relevant to assigned programs and the AAI quality system.
* Participates in design reviews, program reviews, material reviews and other reviews as directed.
* Identifies and recommends or implements the appropriate corrective action to quality problems in the assigned area.
* Prepares inspection and/or test procedures as required by assigned program(s).
* Selects equipment and conducts tests and experiments to establish quality standards for production processes and materials.
* Writes quality plans, procedures, forecasts and manpower plans.
* Assists customer representatives in their evaluation of AAI facilities and quality programs.
* Practices Lean Six Sigma principles and concepts.

Required Skills

* Broad knowledge of quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
* Technical knowledge of electrical inspection and test techniques.
* Knowledge of computers and computer applications.
* Knowledge of military and commercial quality specifications.
* Knowledge of statistical techniques and applications.
* Thorough knowledge of Total Quality Management systems and concepts.
* Effective written and oral communication skills.
* Technical writing ability.
* Ability to analyze complex specifications, drawings, procedures and schematics.
* Ability to apply analytical skills to solve problems.
* Ability to plan and organize;       * Ability to effectively resolve material review actions.
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers/other employees of the organization.

Required Experience

Typically requires three years experience in Quality Assurance with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or Industrial Management, or equivalent education or experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the job duties. Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment including ISO9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
