The AUA is actively recruiting a Senior Manager of Quality to help lead the Associations expanding national agenda on quality measurement, reporting and improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be thoroughly versed in all aspects of quality, including extensive experience in the creation and implementation of provider quality improvement interventions, ideally at the individual physician practice or hospital level, and familiarity with the development and testing of clinical quality performance measures, quality reporting, pay for reporting and pay for performance initiatives, and national, state and individual payer policies within this realm.

The Senior Manager of Quality reports to the Associate Executive Director (AED) of Health Policy and works collaboratively with the AED, and the four other departments that compose the Health Policy Division, as well as volunteer physicians, to implement the strategic initiatives of the department.
Responsibilities include:
-Research, design, and implementation of quality improvement interventions in areas where urologic measures are currently in use and tailored to the needs of different kinds of physician practices
-Development and dissemination of educational products and information about best practices in quality reporting and quality improvement interventions pertinent to the field of urology
-The thorough execution of AUAs existing quality measurement activities and suggestions for development of new efforts where needed
-Oversight of the tracking and monitoring of relevant quality activities and policies in public and private organizations involved in quality.
-Keeping abreast of all relevant developments in quality measurement and payment policies through review of published reports and articles, attendance at meetings and conferences and participation coalition workgroups, among other activities, in order to provide guidance and direction to the AUAs efforts in this growing area.
– A nursing degree with direct experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives is preferred.
– A Bachelor’s degree in nursing, related clinical field or social science or related field and 7 years of directly relevant experience is required.
– A Master’s degree and 5 or more years of directly relevant experience is preferred.
– Must have senior level experience in any or all of the following: design and implementation of quality improvement efforts with providers, knowledge of the development and testing of quality performance measures, quality performance measurement reporting, and familiarity with national, state and private payer policies within the area of quality.
– Must have experience representing an organization to outside constituencies and superior public speaking skills.
– Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, supervisory, organizational, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills are absolutely essential; a demonstrated ability to develop a rapport with others while exhibiting tact and diplomacy is critical, as is the ability to exercise senior level, sound judgment in sharing and communicating information internally and externally.
– Strong time management skills are required to meet rapidly shifting deadlines on multiple projects.
– Ability to work successfully under high pressure is vital.
– Must be able to work independently and in collaboration.
