Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer Software Quality 1/2.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman Mission Assurance Engineering Process Effectiveness team. The Mission Assurance Engineering Process Effectiveness team provides an independent assessment of quality systems and compliance to contractual and quality requirements. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic engineering software development environment requiring dynamic interaction with program management, developers and customers.

Roles and Responsibilities
Provide an overarching focus on systems and software, product and process quality throughout the program life-cycle.
Participate in Peer Reviews and Product Reviews as a principal team member to ensure quality and compliance to program and company requirements.
Ensure the flow-down of requirements is complete and unambiguous and that consistent bidirectional traceability is maintained.
Participate in contractual reviews and audits, program/IPT meetings, and configuration control board meetings.
Perform process audits of the engineering and management processes to assure compliance to established policies, procedures, work instructions, and program specific plans.
Examine the products associated with the preparation and configuration control of software test environments to assess the team’s readiness to enter formal testing.
Witness execution of software qualification and system acceptance tests to ensure tests are executed in accordance with approved test procedures, requirements are fully verified, and that all test procedure and software anomalies are documented and tracked to closure.
Ensure thorough root cause analysis on all major findings (product and process) and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are developed and implemented in a timely manner.
Create and provide internal quality reports and metrics using enterprise applications and a variety of special software applications
Perform supplier management evaluations and supplier audits including travel to supplier sites as needed to participate in supplier test activities.

The position may be filled at either a Band 1 or Band 2 based on the education, experience and skills of the applicants

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Band 1:
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field of study
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Basic knowledge of programing languages including C/C++ and Java
Basic knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to all levels of leadership in written and presentation formats
Ability to work independently as well as in teams and small groups plus the ability to manage conflict well.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
Ability to obtain required security clearances

Band 2:
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field of study plus ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­3 years of relevant, related  (refer to job description) experience.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Basic knowledge of programing languages including C/C++ and Java
Basic knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to all levels of leadership in written and presentation formats
Ability to work independently as well as in teams and small groups plus the ability to manage conflict well.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
Ability to obtain required security clearances

Preferred Qualifications:
Auditing experience, preferably to AS9000/AS9100.  Lead Auditor certification for AS9000/AS9100 preferred
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications preferred
Knowledge of the Aerospace industry with minimum of 3 years experience using Quality control methods preferred
Previous experience with NASA, Space or Missile programs are preferred.
Green/Black Belt certification or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications in CQA, CSQE and CQE preferred.
Active DOD  Secret  or higher Clearance preferred
