Job: Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Solipsys; Fulton, MD)
Job Description:
Raytheon Solipsys is seeking an experienced Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer to assist with the following responsibilities in our Fulton, MD office.
Responsibilities:
* Works with customer and project personnel to understand applications, requirements and standards used for each project
* Creates and maintains project-specific QA plans, processes and schedules from customer and organizational requirements
* Provides process guidance to assigned projects recommending organizational standard processes and any tailoring when appropriate
* Ensures quality of deliverables via peer reviews and QA reviews using selected criteria and checklists
* Monitors requirements and software development, qualification testing, and product releases
* Performs process and product audits according to company and customer requirements
* Documents findings and observations, issues corrective actions and opportunities for improvement
* Performs preliminary assessments of potential impact or risk and Root Cause analysis for non-compliances
* Monitors and track all findings and action items to closure; escalating when necessary
* Collects and analyzes QA metrics; performs trend analysis across groups and projects
Required Skills:
* Must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Must be able to work in a team setting with all levels of the organization
* Experience with version control, formal control, configuration management and data management
* Understanding of verification and validation processes, including early software defect detection and removal, inspection, and testing methods
* Experience with CMMI and auditing mandatory
* Experience with software development in C++/Java are a plus
* This is not a QA Test role, but a QA Analyst position for auditing process areas and work products

Required Experience:
* Must have 4+ years as a Quality Assurance Analyst and at least 7 years overall experience in a software or systems development organization
* B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical discipline is required
* Experience in actual computer programming or systems engineering is a plus
* Experience with system and software processes within a CMMI and/or ISO 9001 environment
* ASQ certification a plus (CMQ, CQA, CQE and/or CSQE)
This position requires applicants to be eligible for a US SECRET Security Clearance for access to classified information. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
