Job: Quality Engineer (ATK; Beltsville MD)

Description:
ATK, Aerospace Systems, with an office in Beltsville, MD is currently seeking a Quality Engineer with knowledge of and demonstrated competence in engineering and product assurance concepts related to the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities for this position include:
* Possess the ability to manage all quality functions on a program by program basis.
* Effectively interpret and flow down customer quality requirements to engineering, manufacturing and inspection is required
* Review and approval of drawings, work instructions, requisitions, procedures and test plans.
* Generation of program quality plans when required must be prepared.
* Institute lean principles to streamline the inspection function
* Participate in the material review board committee
* Contract review and flow down of requirements
* Participate in PDR, CDR, and pre-ship reviews
* Manage and coordinate all QA activities for specific customers
* Ability to work across all functional organizations
* Track and maintain metrics for performance
* Position will require flexibility in work week and may require limited travel

Qualifications for this position include:
* BS or equivalent in a related engineering discipline is required.
* 5-10 years of related experience in the implementation of ISO 9000/9001 quality requirements
* Individual must be able to work independently and will interface with internal and customer counterparts at all levels
* Proficiency in CAD or ProE a plus.
* Thermal Mechanical and composites manufacturing experience a plus.
* Strong computer, written and oral communication skills a must.
